Bayan-player Vladimir Ushenin

Vladimir Ushenin - Honored artist of Russia, candidate of arts criticism, professor of the Rostov state S. V. Rakhmaninov conservatory (academy).

He was born on October, 15, 1946 in Rostov-on-Don. In 1960 he finished musical school (class of Vnukov M.F.), in 1964 - the Rostov musical college (class of Krakhotkina A.N.), in 1969 - the Saratov conservatory (class of Skvortsov B.I.) and in the same place in 1974 postgraduate training. Since 1971 he has been working of the Rostov musical-pedagogical institute (since 1993 Rostov state S. Rakhmaninov Conservatory (Academy). Since 1991 he has been the honored artist of Russia, since 1993 - the professor, since 2006 - the candidate of art criticism. The author of books, devoted to the history and technique performing art, articles about our noted bayan players and publications in scientific collections. The well known teacher who has brought up the whole galaxy of talented musicians - executants, winners of the All-Russia and international competitions.

In the staff of the ensemble of Russian national instruments "Kalinka" (the head and solo bayan player Ushenin has been since 1976) Vladimir became the winner of the All-Russian competition of executants on national instruments (Tula, 1986, III premium). The geography of performances of the ensemble is rather wide: Baltic, Siberia, Ural, an middle strip of Russia, the Volga region, Armenia. "Kalinka" has visited many countries of the world - Finland, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, Denmark, France, Norway, Spain, Portugal, the Great Britain, Morocco, Somalia. The collective managed to realize its diverse potential in the sphere of the sound recording - for the funds of All-Union radio, it has recorded down about 30 plays, and in 1989 the firm "Melody" released a audio record of ensemble with the record of the musicians' playing under the name "Оh, yes you, kalinushka". In the 90s five compact discs have been recorded by the ensemble: - "Dancing music of nations of the world", "Music of the composers of the Don", and also ""Kalinka" Plays", "Russian national songs" - together with "the winner of All-Union competition "New names" Nadezhda Obraztsova" and "Melodies of Russian soul" - with the honored artist of the Russian Federation George Taranov.

The aspiration to transfer the saved up experience and repertoire to the young collectives was realized in the publication of the repertoire collections: "Kalinka Plays" - releases № 1, 2 (Rostov-on-Don, 1981-1983), V. Ushenin "Work with the ensemble of Russian national instruments" (М., 1986), "Musical box" (М., 1991), "Russian classics and folklore in repertoire of ensemble "Kalinka"" (Rostov-on-Don, 1993), "Sounding images": Plays for a quintet of Russian national instruments of J. Vesnjak (Rostov-on-Don, 2000).

By the present time Vladimir Ushenin had instrumented and prepared for the edition in a computer set the significant amount of approved in concert and student teaching practice of scores (for duets, a trio, quartets for the bayan (accordion) players, the mixed structures of ensembles of Russian national instruments, for a bayan in ensemble with the academic instruments, arrangements and transpositions for a bayan (accordion) solo.
